Hello! My name is Yasmin and I’m a final year medical student at the University of Cambridge. I achieved 3A*s at A-level and received offers from Cambridge, UCL, Imperial and KCL for medicine and Queen Mary University for biomedical sciences. In 2022 I received my degree in natural sciences from Cambridge, achieving a 1st in my immunology research project.
Since 2021, I have helped students receive offers for medicine, natural sciences and biomedical sciences, both at Oxbridge and other universities.
I’ve been a 1:1 mentor and personal statement reviewer for the Cambridge Applicant Support Programme and Target Oxbridge. Additionally, I have much experience in preparing applicants for interviews with The Oxbridge Formula, the Cambridge Widening Access to Medicine Society, and privately. Furthermore, as Advanced Biology Tutor for The Oxbridge Formula, I created and delivered 20 hours of workshops for a cohort of 15+ students, bridging the gap between A-level and degree-level biology. I enjoy mentoring students and demystifying the application process through sharing my own experiences and that of my previous students.
My goal with each student is to make learning enjoyable and spark their inner curiosity. I help students develop their critical thinking skills - I believe this is essential to helping students understand concepts from first principles, in a way that makes sense to them. I provide individualised feedback to highlight strengths and areas for improvement.
In addition to my studies and tutoring, I balance academic research, committee roles and extracurricular activities within the Cambridge community. In my free time, I enjoy watching documentaries and playing musical instruments!
