Experience

Hi! I'm Rena, a third-year History and Politics student at Cambridge University. I love learning, but I also know how tough it can be and what it feels like when you've been trying hard to understand something for a long time. I teach History and English Language and Literature at GCSE and A-Level. They are my passions, and I have extensive experience with essay writing, personal statement editing, university admissions assessments, and interview prep. Coming from Thailand, I know how daunting the university application process can be, particularly for those with an international background. I am very familiar with the process and would love to help you along the same journey! I believe that we learn best when we are having fun, so I adopt a creative, imaginative approach to lessons, using real-life examples and memorable analogies to connect with you in lessons. I also tailor lessons to your personal needs and requests so that you feel confident to handle any academic challenges that come your way. At school, I achieved 3A*s in History, Economics, and EPQ and an A in English Literature, and 8 A*s and 2As at GCSE, completed during the challenges of Covid. I assure you that I am a compassionate and dedicated mentor, teacher, and friend - which you will see when we work together!

About

In my free time, I love engaging my creative writing muscles and conducting investigative reporting for one of the university's newspapers. I also love debating, and was involved in the Cambridge Union for quite some time.
